His re-election campaign in July 2018 was dubbed “the most expensive congressional race in Texas history.” The House race was the closest in Texas and one of the closest in the country. On November 19, Will was proclaimed the official winner by a margin of 926 votes. He has decided not to run in 2020. He was seen as a moderate in Congress, voting with Democrats on some topics.
