Neeraj became the second Indian to win a medal at a World Athletics Championships with his silver medal in the 2022 World Championships. Career

He began his professional javelin training at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in Panchkula, Haryana. He then worked out at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium’s Athletics Nursery in Panchkula, Haryana. In an interview, he stated that the first person to recognize his skill was Indian javelin thrower, Jaiveer Choudhary. Later, he competed in several national and international javelin throw contests. He has several medals from tournaments such as the Asian Games, the Commonwealth Games, and the Asian Championships. During an interview, when discussing winning the medals.
