During the reign of Sher Shah Suri in the 16th century, his family governed Tulamba, a town near Mian Channu, and dispersed the areas around Tulamba. Dr. Muhammad Tahir Kamal Sahu, his younger brother, is a well-known cardiologist who works at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology in Lahore. Jameel finished his elementary schooling at Lahore’s Central Model School. He attended Government College University in Lahore and Jamia Arabia in Raiwind for his Islamic education, where he studied the Qur’an, hadiths, Sufism, logic, and Islamic law.
