He is one of the few Nigerian actors that made it to the Hall of fame despite having no formal schooling. He dropped out of school in Primary 3 to pursue acting before becoming well-known for his role in the award-winning Yoruba film “Aiyekooto,” which translates as “Parrot” in English.

To support his acting career, he worked as a bus driver. His career took off after he appeared in the award-winning film Aiyekooto. He has also directed films such as Odun Baku (2006) and collaborated with well-known Nollywood actors and actresses such as Femi Adebayo.

Ibrahim Chatta originally married Olayinka Solomon, but the marriage ended in divorce. Ibrahim later married Salamatu Mohammed Lafiaji, the daughter of Shaaba Lafiaji, the former Governor of Kwara state. The couple first met in 2007 and married on December 30, 2012. It didn’t take long for the pair to be rumored to be at odds.


Ibrahim Chatta was interested in performing since he was a child in Bachita. He had the opportunity to watch the public performances of numerous important figures, including Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello), the late Duro Ladipo, the Late Iya Mero, and Ray Eyiwunmi (Baba Ray), the latter of whom he developed a great fancy to and considered his role model.
