Myrie joined the BBC as a trainee local radio reporter in 1987 as part of the corporation’s graduate journalism training. In 1988, he worked as a correspondent for Radio Bristol before returning to the BBC following a year with Independent Radio News. He then worked for Points West, and subsequently for BBC Television and Radio News. Myrie joined the BBC as a foreign reporter in 1996 and has since reported from over 80 countries.
