In one of his talks in October 2022, Amritpal stated, “Jesus, who could not save himself, how could he save everyone else?” Some of the Christian community labeled this as hate speech. The Christian community protested Amritpal for his views regarding Jesus Christ at PAP Chowk for four hours. The demonstrators asked that an FIR be registered against him under 295A of the IPC (Indian Criminal Code) for “hurting religious sensibilities and seeking to exacerbate communal divides”.

Singh’s Instagram account was permanently deleted in December 2022. He had already been barred from using Twitter. Sikh organizations noted a trend of social media bans of Sikh activists by social media businesses in response to Indian government pressure. Neither Instagram nor Twitter explained the bans.
