The males, named Clinton and Tiaan, pushed her into the back seat of her car and drove her to a rural spot outside of town. They raped her numerous times and tried to strangle her there. When it didn’t work, they stabbed her 37 times in the abdomen and 17 times in the neck, destroying her windpipe and severing the majority of her nerves. They then abandoned her in a clearing. Botha, on the other hand, refused to die. She managed to pull herself to a neighboring hospital while holding her intestines within her body with one hand.
